The Challenge
JustAFewThings needed an eCommerce presence that wasn't constrained by the rigid templates of Shopify or the maintenance headaches of WooCommerce. They wanted a platform that could handle:
- Custom Product Pipelines: A print-ready product catalog that didn't fit standard CMS models.
- Seasonal Theming: The ability to drastically change the site's look and feel for different holidays without rewriting code.
- Deep User Insights: They needed to know not just what people bought, but how they shopped.
The Solution
We built a Custom eCommerce Framework using Astro and Tailwind CSS. This headless architecture allowed us to decouple the frontend experience from the backend data management.

The Mixpanel Integration
One of the standout features of this project was the implementation of a comprehensive analytics strategy using Mixpanel.
Instead of generic "page view" tracking, we instrumented the application to track meaningful business events:
- Funnel Analysis: We can see exactly where users drop off in the checkout flow (e.g., "Added to Cart" vs. "Started Checkout" vs. "Completed Purchase").
- Product Engagement: Tracking which product images and descriptions drive the most engagement.
- Seasonal Performance: Comparing user behavior across different seasonal themes to optimize future campaigns.
The Results
The new platform delivered immediate results:
- 100/100 Lighthouse Performance Score: Drastically improved SEO rankings compared to their previous solution.
- Data-Driven Decisions: The Mixpanel insights allowed the team to identify a bottleneck in the mobile checkout flow, which, once fixed, increased mobile conversions by 15%.
